Best-200-Watts-LED-Grow-Light

While having an idea about the best 200 watts LED grow light can be very useful, it is not enough to limit the running costs for your grow tent because several other factors come into play, other than wattage, for proper lighting of an indoor grow tent.

Of the many factors, the one that I think plays the most role in proper lighting intensity and wavelength is Luminance. It’s the amount (Intensity) of light given by a piece of lighting equipment with a specific wattage.

Installing a grow light with low luminance and 200 watts (which is relatively high for an LED) might not give as much light as you would expect from a 200 Watts LED compared to another 200 Watts LED with a high Luminance.

Hence, ensuring that you get the best 200 watts LED grow light with valuable features is a must to avoid disappointment. Below are the five best 200 Watts LED grow lights that I think are very good for lighting with proper Intensity (the kind you would expect from a 200 Watts LED grow light) and wavelength. Let’s review my choices.

High Photon Efficiency

Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) measures the quality of light produced by a light source that is photosynthetically available for plants. I-e, the plants can only use light within specific wavelengths and frequencies to carry out efficient photosynthesis. They do not use all of the white light.

The photosynthetically active flux defines the amount of light produced in the PAR per second. The higher the PAF, the better the efficiency of a lighting system to efficiently induce photosynthesis in plants, leading to better yields and harvests.

And while I am no expert in measuring PAR and PAF, I know that the spectrum around 420nm-500 nm provides the best PAR, and I was surprised to know that the PB2000 grow light’s spectra measure closely to the said spectrum.

Full-spectrum

While the 420-500nm does provide a good amount of PAR, this by no means means that spectra outside 500nm are useless. The plant uses a spectrum beyond 700 nm, and a spectrum below 420 is not necessarily useless.

That is why the full spectrum feature of this MAXSISUN PB2000 Pro Grow Light makes me comfortable in thinking that I can adjust the spectra according to my own needs from the plant. For instance, the Infrared spectrum beyond 700 nm is beneficial for germinating seeds.

Even the temperature of the lights can be fixed to the desired warmth from 3000K of warm white to 5000K of Neutra white. Again, the temperature is very useful for inducing proper leaf growth, yield, photosynthesis, and flowering in the Plants.

Commercial grade builds

With a very innovative remote control that adjusts the intensity of the LEDs from 0% to 100% and high-grade building material, the PB2000 is one of the best 200 watts LED grow lights in terms of commercial use as a single remote control can be used to adjust the intensities of a large number of PB2000 systems at the same time, making it very easy to manage a large grow tent.

While it is best for commercial use, this means that it cannot be installed in one of the best grow tents for beginners.

PB2000 is very easy to install and even easier to manage and maintain.

Lxyoug Grow Lights For Indoor Plants

Key specifications
● 4 in 1 LED plant lamp
● Six dimmable and three switch modes
● 420 pcs LED
● Body material: Alloy

Features:

Grow light with a stand

This one’s for all of you who want to take the extra advantage of having a grow light but cannot afford to keep a growing tent.

Unlike most grow lights that require a grow box for optimal function, these grow lights feature a stand on which rests two pairs of grow lights (lights A and lights B).

You can keep the stand anywhere you like, which I am most fond of because it means that I wouldn’t have to keep installing and uninstalling; that’s common when using standard grow lights. I can move them around as easily as I can move my body around. Plus, with their lightweight, it doesn’t even sound like a loss of hassle.

Flexibility in lighting

These stand-grow lights feature six dimmable and three switch modes.

The first switch mode allows you to operate all 4 lights at the same time. The light A switch mode and light B switch mode allow you to operate one of the two pairs of lights simultaneously. It’s great if you’ve got, say, some plants against the wall and you do not want to waste electricity by keeping all the four lights running. You can switch to one of the switch modes and expect things to work seamlessly.

The six dimmable functions allow you to activate lighting of various intensities. Suitable for different growing periods of plants and great for adjusting the intensities according to the diffused light reaching the plants already.

Flexible gooseneck

While the switch modes provide a lot of flexibility in where you want your light rays to fall, the extra flexibility, making things even better, is provided by the adjustable gooseneck.

The adjustable gooseneck provides 360 degrees of control over where you want your light stand to bend and at what angle. The flexible gooseneck allows you to position your lighting system precisely, and I cannot be a greater fan of it.

SERWING 200W LED Grow Lights for Indoor Plants

Key specifications
● Material: Aluminum
● 216pcs LED
● Adjustable rope hanger
● 3733.43 lumens

Features:

Highly efficient

When it comes to the best 200 Watts LED grow light, lumens, along with power, must be considered at all times. High power with low luminance is trash unless it is the low lumens that you want.

I was surprised to know that such a small LED grow light can provide such a good number of lumens. I must say, 3733 lumens is relatively high for standard 200 Watts LEDs. The value, on a comparable ratio, matches closely to that of the sun.

The lumen to wattage ratio does give an idea of the efficiency of this lamp. And indeed, it is highly efficient. Although it does say 200 Watts, the actual total power is only 70 watts, but the performance is equivalent to 200 watts apiece.

Best for small plants

The size of this LED grow light makes it one of the best 200 watts LED grow lights for small plants, pots, and herbs that you would typically keep in your kitchen.

The light distribution is very uniform, so much it creates a soft-light effect, and it is perhaps another reason, together with its size, for its perfection for smaller plants. That being said, you can always stack up 2 to 3 pieces together for larger plants and even for growing tents.

Easy setup and temperature

Of all the best 200 watts LED grow lights we’ve reviewed so far, the Serwing 200W is one of the easiest to assemble and even easier to maintain, manage, and operate.

The adjustable hanging kit makes the Serwing even more delightful to work with. The company’s recommended height from plant to the light source is around 8-10”, with the adjustable hanging kit aiding the height transitions between each growing stage.

As for the temperature, while the standard LED grow lights feature 3000K to 5000K temperatures, this one features a temperature of 3000K on its warmest to 6000K on its coldest, most neutral. It is a pretty big leap from the standard grow lights.

Gilouppe Plant Light for Indoor Plants

Key Specifications
● Shade material: Aluminum
● 120 LED beads per headpiece
● Auto On/off timer control
● Three switch and six brightness controls

Features:

Multiple Panels

I’ve always been a big fan of grow lights on stands. There is just something very cool about them. Plus, their added flexibility is always a big plus.

With two panels, each of which has 120 LED beads, this is all the grow light you will ever need for small, medium, and medium-large plants in pots and on the ground. The adjustable stand length makes things even easier and more convenient to work with.

The goosenecks for the panels are super flexible as well. Sure, they’re not flexible 360 degrees, but the flexibility is enough to help you feel comfortable with them.

Auto On/Off time control

This is one of those features that help make life very easy. I feel like every grow light should have an auto-on and off-timer. It’s so convenient you forget about the last time you set up the timer, so much that when you replace the grow light with one that doesn’t have the timer, you end up running all day long on full Intensity.

Setting up the timer is very easy. You can do that with the button located just above the power button. See the user manual included in the package if things seem to start getting confusing.

Full Spectrum

By this time, you should already be aware that I am a big fan of Full-spectrum lights. They’re just too convenient to be true and provide lights of all the proper wavelengths and frequencies for plants to thrive through all stages, from seedling to harvest.

Each panel has 120 LED beads, with each Bead giving off the light of a specific frequency or a temperature, mainly in the warm region around 3000-3500K, 400-500nm wavelength (blue), and 600-700nm red wavelength. All of the different frequencies and temperatures add up to provide a vibrant spectrum.

Four Head Plant Light for Indoor Plants

Key specifications:
● Material: Aluminum
● 420 LED bead
● Four switch and ten dimmable modes

Features:

Red/Blue Spectrum

While it does not feature a full spectrum, I still think it is a lovely piece of LED grow light because the Red-Blue spectrum makes it very specific in its function and allows it to do its job better than the same job done by full spectrum LED grow lights.

The job? To provide the best PAR with its spectrum for green leafy plants. The Red/Blue spectrum is considered one of the best spectral ranges to allow healthy leaves and induce flowering.

Red light helps in photosynthesis, flowering, and germination. Blue light induces more chlorophyll synthesis in plant cells. Violet lights help with the general growth of the plant.

Anti-Slip clip

One of those features has made me a big fan of this best 200 watts LED grow light.

The anti-slip, strong clip allows this grow light to be fixed almost anywhere and be easily accessible by your plants. This is something that is only found in the best 200 watts LED grow light. Hence having such a feature as this is truly innovative.

Flexible gooseneck

The 360° flexible gooseneck allows you to position your lights accurately to where you want without having to move the whole of the grow light at once.

Plus, the four switch modes bring even more flexibility to its use. The switch modes plus the flexible gooseneck is all the flexibility you will ever need in a best 200 Watts LED grow light to make sure the light rays fall precisely where you want them to.

Buying Guide

Best 200 Watts LED Grow Light

Here’s a buying guide that will help you pick the best 200 watts LED light.

Size:

They say size matters. And Yes, it 100% does.

The size of the LED grow light is proportional to the area it will be showering uniformly with gentle lights. If you have a small area to cover, don’t bother getting a large-sized LED to grow light because the difference between input and output powers will cost you quite a lot.

Plus, there are always storage problems, so keep that in mind as well.

Spectrum:

Most of the best 200 watts LED grow lights we reviewed here were full-spectrum, and this is quite a nice feature to have. The full spectrum allows you to adjust the lights on a wide range of frequencies and temperatures.

However, some LED grow lights do not come in full-spectrum but instead feature a single spectrum only. Usually, that is the blue/red spectrum, and it is nice to have big green, leafy plants to help the leaves shine bright and induce exponential growth and flowering.

Intensity:

Most LED grow lights are 200 watts, but the power only determines a small part of the true intensity. You can see the part with the naked eye, aka, how bright the light appears to your eyes.

What you don’t see is the quality of the lights. The number of photons that are useful for photosynthesis and growth. For this reason, we recommend you research the Intensity your plant needs for good growth and the intensity of your best 200 watts LED grow light. You can determine the intensity of your light equipment by analyzing the manufacturer’s PAF and PAR charts.
